Words can't really convey how angry I am that another police officer has been shot. The arsehole holed up in that house does not deserve to live. To have a cop die doing a job that keeps us safe when this shithead will go through court in a year's time if he is lucky, and then live out the next 30 years in jail is just fucked.

Here's hoping the injured guys pull through, they get that police dog out of there alive, and the prick with the guns tries to make a run for it so he can get what he deserves.

Angry.

I sincerely hope not Hobzee. Their mandate was very clear for deployment inside NZ.But lets wait and see.
Yes a time to reflect what our society owes the members of the police.

I just read that they got the police dog out alive and uninjured. That's great news - hopefully it helps the handler pull through.

Completely gutted. Been a rough week. Jan didn't deserve to go out the way he did, on his terms and all... there is no justice here, just a dead 30 year vet. cop, 2 others fighting for their lives and a civilian hero shot too. All for what? Some weed. Words can't describe the frustration, the guy would've maybe got a hefty fine and some community work but decided to turn part of Napier into a war zone and add another cop to the increasing list of those fallen on duty. Makes me sick. Whenever this happens my missus and I are always drawn into a lenghty discussion about whether this is the right career path and I know a few of the bros get it too. 3 times in the last year; if there's a 4th in the near future someone offer me a job :cry[1]:

I know what you mean. I had not long graduated when Peter MURPHY was shot down in Invercargill. We grew up and played together in NaeNae same parish primary schools etc.I cannot describe when I read the teletext just after starting work that morning.A long time ago but I still remember that.I was 19 and he was 21.His brother spud was also a copper. his Dad never really got over it.
The in the later 80's Rodger Trembath got run over by a drunk Driver in Kawerua
he survived but sustained massive body injuries and head injuries. he never passed another PT test and was retired. However he can walk around got got his drivers licence back. He still pops in now and again when he roams around.

Now you may well pass through times when you ask yourself it is all worth it ?
the public seem forever to be critical and the press unbearable.
The fact remains the general public NEED you and the majority RESPECT you but they just never say so except in times of great loss.

You will know inside yourself when its time to leave but tell your missus every day you love her and your children also.

Hey Nick it is people like yourself that make it safe for the rest of us to walk around in relative safety.. For that, thank you for your dedication ..

Yes it is a blight on our society that for the sake of a bit of weed a very brave and loyal gentleman is cut down in his prime by a total low life.. It is so hard to put it into words just how angry we in our family feel at this sad time..

Then the bloody coward takes his own life ........................
