Hey guys, thanks for looking at this. I am abit of a norman when it comes to hardware. I am looking at upgrading for work and gaming. I would like something that can handle heavy graphic design and 3d usage, and also to run the games out now in in near future. I am looking at spending $2500

What are your thoughts on this PC? and would it be better to build one?
thanks in advance for your input.

That looks pridy
and thats all I have to say about that :)
Hmmmm.... Not sure on why 8gb Ram... Only 500gb Hard Drive.....
That is quite expensive Benny for what your getting.... This person also fails to advise on brands, I mean it could be a crap white box or Nvidia etc?
These prices all came from pricespy.co.nz
Q9400 = $460.00
DDR2 Corsair 6400 = $28 per GB (x8)
GTX285 = $650.00
500gb Hard Drive = $100.00
650w PSU = $150.00
Thermaltake Armor+ Case = $200.00
CD/DVDRom = $40.00
Mobo = ?? $300
Total = $2124
So in my view, the savings of $370'ish would be able to purchase a 22" LCD monitor.
An i7 CPU is approx $500.00 so why go old technology.....
Have you looked at playetech or computer lounge??
Get this;

Cheaper and it will do you perfectly plus it has a two year warrenty lol
And that is one of two cases I am actually looking at buying.... The other is a Cooler Master Storm Sniper...
That is a better buy Benny... Now you can also customise what you buy from them as well..... .....
I have the scout meds. Love it.

If you go for Morphs I'd take it up to 2500 by getting 2 x 15K RPM raptors Striped for your disk. That's still the bottleneck no matter how fast all the other shit is. It's what I'm using for disk and I'd still like them faster sometimes. It doesn't affect your frame rate but when loading games, levels, and all the resource hogging crap windows does to keep your disk busy.

? wtf ?
What are they man, do they go onto ur mobo?? soz, abit thick with this stuff.

If processing data from the hard drives need to be extremely then yes..... the Hard Drives would be an issue....
Raptors are the fastest personal hard drives availabile, but they are also $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ 150 gigs are $330 and PB wants you to have two :PDT_Armataz_01_23[1, then Raid (I think 0, there are different types of Raid) them up. Which means you spread the data between the two for faster load times. This effectively means windows treats it as one hard drive, but also causes the problem if one dies, the other is unreadable, so you would lose all data :bawling[1]: Best to have a third hard drive for storage with the raptors for windows and games.
I dont think you will have any issues with the WD range of Hard Drives. I Run two and have no issues at all.
Forget the Hard Drive thing..... Processing power of graphics and ram are what matter for his type of gaming and graphics work......

Yes, so cheap... so get the raptor hard drives also ;) I mean have you every played Empire Total War? That's a game where even the raptors could be faster.
jad if his drive crashed he wouldn't lose data because he'd have backed it up.
Having said that I've been running mine for 2.5 years without issue.
