Also It will play through the analogue connections to an older style TV ?

These media players are good if you don't have a tonne of media. Navigating through directories is tedious as! I even find the DLNA feature on newer TVs slow for navigating. I'd sooner have a media centre or an 'Acer Revo' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL-xmvsj45I . But that depends mainly on the amount of media you have stored.

BTW, 1TB external hard drives are on special at Dick Smith for $99 this Easter weekend. If you can find them...
