I installed them this morning. Map changing speed remains unchanged (i.e. 50+ seconds).

Having said that, I
- didn't remove the old driver and just installed over the top
- I didn't do anything ingame to change anything (should I have???)

Have you tried moving the page file off the Solid State disk to a standard disk?

Eh? Really? I can give that it a go if you think that would make a difference.

The machine is a i7 930 with 6Gb tri-thing-a-me memory, ATI Radeon 5850 card and 3 drives (64Gb SSD, 500Gb SATA, 1TB SATA).

Everything else seems nice and quick. Moving the page file - does this make a difference?

I think it makes a difference when loading large files, anyway worth a try it is easy enough to change back if it does not work.

Changing it to force DX9 fixed mine....

yeah seemed a bit faster in dx 11 but dx 9 is way faster i get some screen flashing while loading but game is ok i got everything set to low which lets me see where my next knife victim is

I've applied the new drivers, forced DX9 and set everything to 'medium' and I think its probably okay now.

Sucks because I spend up large on a video card and then dumb down my games because driver support is shit.

This is cold.....
